Sunday Morning Drive Home

There is a cold spell coming!

Driving home, thinking of the frigid weather coming to us and much of North America. I watch two cars speed through a red light, and I think about how we are becoming, more and more, a ME society, and I mourn how we are treating each other and how we are allowing ourselves and others to be treated. I am reminded of a quote by James Baldwin, “Children have never been very good at listening to their elders, but they have never failed to imitate them.”

I wonder at, no, I fear, the country and world that our grandchildren are inheriting.

“Let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred.”

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
