Between showers!

Something exciting is in the works.
While Patty was going through some old belongings, she came across slides — some of them 50 to 60 years old — and asked if I could try to digitize and recover them. I said I’d give it a shot. What I found when I opened the boxes was more than either of us expected.
Three large boxes. Slides and film strips covering Patty’s childhood, family travels, and our adventures living in Europe. My own early film strips from when I was first learning photography. And our trip to Africa for Patty’s 50th birthday.
The find that excited me most personally: the slides and film strips from when I first got into underwater photography — studying under Kathy Church in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands — along with images from various dive locations the family visited over the years.
I’m working through them now, and we’ll be posting different sets over time as I get them recovered and edited. Some are in rough shape; most are salvageable. It’s going to be quite a journey back through the years.
For now, enjoy yesterday’s outing — and keep an eye out for the historical posts coming soon.
