Gone Before Goodbye by Reese Witherspoon and Harlan Coben

I do not remember where I heard of GONE BEFORE GOODBYE, it is not a genre I often read Psychological Thriller / Suspense / Mystery but it was available at my library for an audible download and I finished it in two days ignoring my other reads in process: I enjoyed it:; the caste was excellent and Porkchop strongly reminded me of a recently lost friend; I am glad I read it, if you are looking for a great performance and an entertaining tale, give it a try.

This collaboration between the “Queen of Book Clubs” and the “Master of the Twist” is one of the most anticipated thrillers of the decade. It blends high-stakes suspense with a deeply emotional core. While Coben provides the signature “hook” and breakneck speed, Witherspoon’s influence is felt in the rich, complex characterization of the protagonist. If you enjoy thrillers that make you wonder “what would I do in this situation?” while keeping you guessing until the very last page, this is an essential listen.

  • The story follows a woman whose life is upended when her husband disappears without a trace. As she begins to peel back the layers of his life, she discovers that the man she married may have been a complete stranger.
The narrative moves between a desperate present-day search and a past filled with secrets that refuse to stay buried. It is a story about the fragility of trust and the lengths a mother will go to protect her children when her entire world is revealed to be a lie.

    ⭐ Reviews
    The Associated Press:
“A match made in thriller heaven. Witherspoon and Coben have created a story that is as heart-wrenching as it is terrifying. The twists are earned, and the emotional payoff is profound.”
    People Magazine:
“The ultimate page-turner. It has the cinematic quality of a Reese Witherspoon production and the ‘just-one-more-chapter’ urgency of a classic Harlan Coben novel. You won’t see the ending coming.”

    🎙️ Audible Note
The audiobook features a full-cast narration, which makes it feel like a high-budget audio drama. This is perfect for your long waits in the field because the different voices help you keep track of the complex plot and various timelines without needing to look at a page.
